Call for Applications: OID Seyi Makinde Annual Essay Competition | Up to 1.75 Million Award

The Omituntun Initiative in Diaspora (OID) continues to uphold its strong commitment to Governor Seyi Makinde’s vision of youth empowerment, innovation, and inclusive development in Oyo State.

For 2025, OID proudly invites ambitious students and visionary thinkers to participate in the Seyi Makinde Annual Essay Competition, centered on themes of innovation, sustainability, leadership, and citizen engagement.

Eligibility

To qualify, applicants must:

• Be a resident or indigene of Oyo State.
• Be enrolled in a recognized institution in Nigeria.
• Be 18 – 35 years old.

Benefits

Winners will receive:

• ₦1,000,000 – First Prize
• ₦500,000 – Second Prize
• ₦250,000 – Third Prize

Top 50 participants will also gain Leadership Academy Training scholarships and an OID Global Participation Certificate.
