Call for Applications: Lagos State Scholarship and Bursary Awards 2026

The Lagos State Scholarship and Bursary Awards are now open to indigenous students of Lagos State for the 2026 academic session.

The Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Scholarship Board (LSSB) has officially announced the commencement of the application process for both the Bursary and Scholarship Awards.

Application forms will be available for purchase from Monday, 19 January 2026, and the application portal will close at 12:00 midnight on Friday, 27 February 2026.

About the Lagos State Scholarship Board

The Lagos State Scholarship Board (LSSB) is a statutory body established in February 1968, shortly after the creation of Lagos State. The Board is responsible for the administration of bursaries, scholarships, and other education-related interventions for Lagos State indigenes.

General Requirements

This opportunity is open to all indigenous students of Lagos State enrolled in tertiary institutions across Nigeria.

Applicants must:

• Have secured full-time admission into a recognized tertiary institution
• Be a bona fide indigene of Lagos State by paternity

Eligibility Requirements for Scholarship Awards

In addition to the general requirements, scholarship applicants must:

• Have full-time admission into a tertiary institution
• Be a bona fide indigene of Lagos State (by paternity)
• Possess a minimum CGPA of 3.5 for undergraduates
• Hold a minimum of Second Class Upper (2:1) for postgraduate applicants

• Technical Colleges: ₦100,000
• Polytechnics / Colleges of Education: ₦200,000
• First Degree: ₦200,000
• Master’s Degree: ₦300,000
• Doctorate (PhD): ₦400,000

For Lagos State University (LASU) Students

• Freshers: ₦35,000
• Arts Students: ₦25,000
• Science Students: ₦30,000
• Physically Challenged Students: ₦40,000
• Law / Engineering / Medical Students: ₦50,000

For Students from Other Institutions

• Arts Students: ₦20,000
• Science Students: ₦30,000
• Physically Challenged Students: ₦40,000
• Law / Engineering / Medical Students: ₦50,000
• Law School & Maritime Academy Students: ₦200,000
