The Benue State Primary Health Care Board, in partnership with the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), has launched a new recruitment exercise for qualified candidates to serve as Community Health Workers across the state.
This initiative is designed to expand access to essential healthcare services, with a special focus on underserved rural communities.

Available Positions
- Junior Community Health Extension Workers (JCHEW):
Ad-hoc health workers who will provide technical support in delivering healthcare services. - Community-Based Health Workers (CBHW):
Volunteer workers responsible for providing basic healthcare services, community mobilization, and health sensitization.
Eligibility Criteria
For Junior Community Health Extension Workers (JCHEW):
- Must hold a valid JCHEW Certificate and practicing license.
- Must be a resident of the local government where applying.
- Must be willing to work in rural areas.
- Age: 25 – 60 years.
For Community-Based Health Workers (CBHW):
- Minimum qualification: Secondary school education.
- Ability to read and write in English and the local language.
- Must be a respected resident within the community.
- Must demonstrate cultural competence and a willingness to serve for at least four years.
- Age: 25 – 60 years.
