General Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the LCA Scholarship Program 2025, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Must provide verifiable proof of all academic and non-academic claims made during the application process.
- Open to students currently in their 1st–3rd year of a four-year program or 1st–4th year of a five-year program.
- Must be a Nigerian citizen or a legal resident from another African country currently studying or living in Nigeria.
- Must have a valid government-issued ID (or a parent/guardian’s government ID if unavailable).
- Academic history must include WASSCE and JAMB results; current students must provide their most recent CGPA.
- Applicants must submit a 500-word personal statement — AI-generated statements will lead to automatic disqualification.

LCA Scholarship Categories
The Liberty Career Academy Scholarship is divided into three major award categories, each tailored to different student backgrounds and aspirations:
Adeola Okungbaye Award
This award supports students from single-parent families and orphans who face financial challenges in pursuing higher education.
It honors the legacy of Adeola Okungbaye, a compassionate leader whose dedication to youth empowerment continues to inspire future generations.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must demonstrate financial need.
- Must be an orphan or from a single-parent family.
- Must be enrolled in or admitted to an accredited tertiary institution (university, polytechnic, or college of education/technical college) in Nigeria.
- Must show strong academic performance — minimum 3.5/5.0 CGPA or 220/400 JAMB score.
- Must meet all general eligibility criteria for the LCA Scholarship.
Merit-Based Award
The Merit-Based Award celebrates academic excellence and leadership. It rewards students who have consistently demonstrated exceptional performance and a commitment to personal and community development.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Enrolled in or admitted to an accredited tertiary institution in Nigeria.
- Minimum 3.7/5.0 CGPA or 240/400 JAMB score.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and involvement in extracurricular activities.
- Must meet all general eligibility requirements.
Gifted Hands Award
Recognizing that success also thrives outside formal classrooms, the Gifted Hands Award supports young artisans and vocational trainees passionate about hands-on professions.
This award provides funding for vocational training or the purchase of essential work tools—from mechanical kits to sewing machines and baking equipment—helping recipients build sustainable livelihoods.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Aged 18–25 years.
- Enrolled in or admitted to a recognized vocational or technical institution in Nigeria.
- Must be currently unemployed.
- Demonstrated leadership potential and passion for their craft.
- Must meet the general LCA Scholarship criteria.
Selection Criteria
Applicants will be evaluated based on:
- Academic merit
- Financial need
- Demonstrated potential for career success
Shortlisted candidates may be required to:
- Provide documentary evidence for all claims.
- Attend an interview or verification process.
Each applicant may apply for only one scholarship category.
