The university invites applications from qualified and experienced professionals for the position of Practicum/Field Work/SIWES/Projects Supervisor.

The university is seeking dedicated professionals to mentor, guide, and evaluate students, helping to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical industry application.

Engagement Model & Timeline
- Programme Period: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months) per semester
- Engagement Type: Temporary/contractual for the duration of the special courses period each semester
- Work Mode: Hybrid, with physical meetings required for scheduled sessions and online support for daily reporting

Responsibilities
Successful supervisors will be expected to be highly organized, communicative, and committed to student development.
Key responsibilities include:
- Student Mentorship: Provide professional guidance, support, and constructive feedback to assigned students.
- Report Review: Review and evaluate assigned students’ daily reports and provide timely feedback where necessary.
- Progress Monitoring: Monitor students’ progress and ensure they remain on track to meet practicum objectives and expected learning outcomes.
- Progress Reporting: Compile and submit students’ bi-weekly progress reports to the Department Coordinator every Saturday before 4:00 PM, twice a month, during the departmental review meeting.
- Final Evaluation: Participate in the end-of-course presentations and evaluate students as a member of the supervisory panel.
Mandatory Supervision Meetings
All supervisors are required to participate in the following meetings:
- Supervisor–Students Meeting
- Days: Monday & Friday
- Time: 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- Purpose: Review weekly goals, address student challenges, and ensure students remain aligned with practicum requirements.

Departmental Meeting with Supervisors
- Frequency: Biweekly on Saturday
- Time: 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- Purpose: Discuss student progress, resolve systemic issues, and maintain consistent assessment standards.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Educational Qualification: Minimum of a Master’s Degree in a relevant field. A Ph.D. is an added advantage.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 2–4 years of relevant industry or academic supervisory experience.
- Industry Knowledge: Demonstrable expertise in the specific field of application, such as Health Sciences, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related disciplines.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Availability: Must be available throughout the full 12–13-week programme and for all scheduled meetings during the semester.
- Affiliation: Applicants must either be current lecturers at Iconic Open University or academics willing to join the university as permanent, part-time, or visiting lecturers.
Remuneration & Administrative Allowance
Iconic Open University offers a competitive administrative allowance to compensate supervisors for their time and expertise.
Remuneration is calculated on a per-student headcount basis, depending on the nature of the programme, whether undergraduate or postgraduate.
