INEC Ad Hoc Staff Recruitment 2027, Requirements, Eligibility, Available Positions and How to Apply
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the opening of its INECPRES online recruitment platform for eligible Nigerians interested in serving as ad hoc election staff for the 2027 General Election.
Applications are scheduled to open on 18th September 2026 at 8:00 AM and close on 18th November 2026 at 12:00 midnight, giving eligible applicants a two-month application window.
The recruitment covers several categories of applicants, including public servants, serving and recently completed NYSC corps members, students of Federal and State tertiary institutions, and qualified ICT professionals.
Available ad hoc positions include Supervisory Presiding Officers (SPOs), Presiding Officers (POs), Assistant Presiding Officers (APOs I, II & III), Registration Area Centre (RAC) Managers, and Registration Area Technical Support (RATECHs).
This is a temporary election duty engagement and not a permanent appointment. Applicants are expected to provide accurate, complete, and verifiable information throughout the application process.

Available Positions
1. Supervisory Presiding Officers (SPOs)
Eligible categories include:
- Federal and State public or civil servants on GL 10–14
- INEC Registration Area Officers and eligible INEC staff who are not engaged in conflicting duties
- Serving NYSC corps members
- Former NYSC corps members who completed their service within the three years preceding the election, including those who served in 2024, 2025, or 2026
- Eligible students of Federal and State tertiary institutions in their penultimate year, including eligible Year 2 or Year 3 students where applicable
2. Presiding Officers (POs) and Assistant Presiding Officers (APOs I, II & III)
Eligible applicants include:
- Permanent staff of Federal and State MDAs with OND or NCE qualifications and the required grade level
- Eligible staff and students of Federal and State tertiary institutions

3. Registration Area Centre (RAC) Managers
Eligible applicants include:
- Heads of schools or other eligible school staff where schools are designated as Registration Area Centres
- Eligible INEC staff
4. Registration Area Technical Support (RATECHs)
Eligible applicants include:
- ICT students from Federal and State tertiary institutions
- Former corps members who served with INEC
- Suitable ICT staff of the Commission who are not engaged in conflicting duties

Requirements
Applicants must:
- Belong to one of the eligible categories for the position being applied for
- Possess the relevant academic qualification required for the position, such as OND, NCE, or higher, where applicable
- Meet the required grade level for public-service positions where applicable
- Have an appropriate ICT background when applying for RATECH positions
- Be available for election-related assignments, mandatory training, and deployment activities
