Kano State Government Skills Empowerment Programme 2026 | Apply for Free Vocational Training
The Kano State Government has officially opened its Skills Empowerment Portal for applications into various vocational and technical training institutes designed to equip young people with practical, employable, and entrepreneurial skills.
The programme will be implemented in three batches, with Batch A admitting 3,200 beneficiaries, while qualified applicants for Batches B and C will be considered after the completion of the first phase of training.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be an indigene of Kano State.
- Be between 18 and 35 years of age.
- Possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN).
- Have an active bank account.
- Present a valid Certificate of Indigeneship.
- Not have benefited from previous editions of the programme.
Note: Providing false information during the application process will lead to immediate disqualification.

Successful applicants will be admitted into any of the following institutes:
- Poultry Institute – 600 slots
- Corporate Security Institute – 500 slots
- Informatics Institute – 400 slots
- Entrepreneurship & Journalism Institute – 250 slots
- Driving Institute – 250 slots
- Development Journalism Institute – 200 slots
- Hospitality Institute – 200 slots
- Livestock Institute – 200 slots
- Horticulture Institute – 200 slots
- Fisheries Institute – 200 slots
- Film Institute – 200 slots
