About the Muslim Scholarship Fund Nigeria
The Muslim Scholarship Fund Nigeria (MSFN) was established in 1999 as the Muslim Education Trust Fund in response to the economic challenges affecting education and the moral development of Nigerian Muslim youths.
The organisation recognises that financial difficulties can prevent many students from accessing and completing their education. The scholarship programme was established to provide financial assistance to Muslim students at the senior secondary and tertiary levels.
The Federal Government’s Universal Basic Education (UBE) programme provides support at the primary and junior secondary school levels. MSFN therefore focuses its scholarship support on students at the senior secondary and tertiary levels.
2026 MSFN Scholarship Requirements
To be considered for the MSFN Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be a Muslim.
- Be an indigene of one of the eligible states listed in the application guidelines.
- Be currently enrolled in a public secondary school or tertiary institution.
- Be an active member of an Islamic organisation, such as the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN), a local mosque, or a recognised Islamic or Da’wah organisation.
- Have obtained credit passes in at least five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, in their most recent examination, specifically the SS2 third-term examination.
- Come from a low-income family.
