Nigerian Navy Recruitment 2026 Batch 39 Basic Training School | Application Form and How to Apply
The Nigerian Navy is inviting applications from qualified Nigerian citizens for the 2026 Recruitment Exercise into the Nigerian Navy Basic Training School, Batch 39.
The recruitment exercise is open to candidates with different qualifications, including O’Level/SSCE, OND/NCE, trade certificates, medical qualifications and other eligible backgrounds.
Application is completely FREE. Applicants should not make any payment to anyone at any stage of the recruitment process.
Online registration will run from 2 October to 31 October 2026.
Successful candidates will undergo basic military training and, upon successful completion, will be recruited into the Nigerian Navy as Ordinary Seamen.

Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be a Nigerian citizen by birth and possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN).
- Meet the minimum height requirement of 1.69m for males and 1.65m for females.
- Be medically, psychologically and physically fit and meet the Nigerian Navy’s medical and employment standards.
- Have no previous criminal conviction by a court of law.
- Be proficient in the use of the English Language.
- Submit only one application. Multiple applications will result in disqualification.
Age and Qualification Requirements
O’Level/SSCE Holders
- Must be aged 18–22 years as of 31 December 2026.
- Must have at least 5 credits, including Mathematics and English Language, in not more than two sittings.
- Accepted certificates include WAEC, NECO, GCE and NABTEB.
- Certificates must not be older than 2020.

OND/NCE Holders
- Must be aged 18–26 years as of 31 December 2026.
- Must have at least 5 credits, including Mathematics and English Language, in not more than two sittings.
- Accepted certificates include WAEC, NECO, GCE and NABTEB.
- Certificates must not be older than 2015.
Chaplain/Imam Assistants and Drivers/Mechanics
- Must be aged 18–28 years as of 31 December 2026.
Tradesmen
Applicants in areas such as tailoring, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, welding, electrical work, painting, refrigeration and air-conditioning must:
- Possess the relevant Trade Test certificate.
- Have a credit in English Language.
- Have at least 4 passes in other subjects in WAEC, NECO, GCE or NABTEB.
- Certificates must not be later than 2017.
Medical-Allied Professions
- Must possess an ND from a recognised Nigerian training institution.
- Must have a valid professional practising licence.
Sportsmen and Sportswomen
- Must provide evidence of relevant sporting experience, including certificates, medals or other supporting documents.

Documents to Print After Application
Applicants should print the following documents after completing their online registration:
- Acknowledgement Form
- Parent/Guardian Consent Form
- Local Government Attestation Form
- Guarantor’s Certification Form
The Local Government Attestation Form must be signed by an eligible official, such as a Nigerian Navy officer of the rank of Commander or equivalent, a Police officer of the rank of Superintendent or above, or a Local Government Chairman.
